I have the honour to transmit the enclosed
copy of a letter from the Chief Justice covering an application
from the Attorney-General to be appointed one of His Majesty's
King's Counsel for tuis Colony.

I have much pleasure in asking your favourable
consideration of Mr. Bucknill's request.

There are in private practice in Hongkong 40
qualified Solicitors and 7 Barristers. Of these latter 3 are King's
Counsel.
